We are a global video telematics company — a leader and pioneer with a passion for moving the potential of advanced technology and partnerships forward.
Beginnings: The Heart of an Engineer and the Soul of a Partner.
Our story began when an American technology icon restructured to focus on first-responder solutions. Our founder, a sales engineer, was in charge of video telematics, a business sector that was in its infancy. He was disappointed when informed that the sector was not in the company’s future and would be shut down. He had built relationships and established mutual trust with a growing number of clients — and he didn’t want to let them down.
He had a vision and partnered with his father-in-law to realize it. They launched our company in an effort to continue serving the clients with whom he’d made commitments prior to the news of the division divestiture.
He and his father-in-law started the video telematics company out of his home.
Faced with the need to scale quickly, they established a network of contract manufacturers and channel partners. This early focus on relationships is the foundation of our continued commitment to the indirect channel. Eventually, we merged with a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of CCTV products in the U.K. called SmartWitness and adopted the name.
